My journey as a writer began in 2011 when my sister asked me to do a book review for a magazine. I knew then that writing is my true passion and that’s when I considered to follow my dreams and pursue a degree in Public Relations. I soon realized that I needed to enjoy writing about the things that I love and need my own space to explore my creativity. I understood that for me writing was just not a way to make ends meet. For me, writing is a way to share my voice and experiences to connect with people.
With that idea in mind, I knew I couldn’t do anything else, and with a little fear of uncertainty and a lot of encouragement from my husband, I decided to quit my day job to write about things I love– Beauty, Style, and Travel. That’s how Nobrow Tastes began.
So, why did I decide to call it Nobrow Tastes? No, it’s not because I like to shave my brow or have nonexistent ones. I actually have thick black eyebrows, which I love! Well, the name is a wordplay on highbrow and lowbrow tastes. Like most people, my tastes are a mish-mash of both and that’s middlebrow tastes. But that’s not what I wanted to name my blog and keep my readers under the impression that I have a unibrow. So, I came up with Nobrow tastes. Upon looking into it, I realized I am not a genius and the term actually exists. So, I decided to run with it.
Nobrow Tastes is a representation of my tastes. It showcases everything that I am passionate about. It’s a way for you delve into a world of Makeup, Skincare, and Lifestyle and know that you can afford to buy these things. It’s also a way to get to know my readers and help them with the things that they want to know. Above everything else, Nobrow Tastes is my way of telling you to follow your dreams regardless of what it may bring. It is my happy place and I want to share it with anyone who is willing to join.
